This is the very earliest date you could start a trip, excluding international travel. For most Latin America trips you can arrive in your destination the same day you depart from the USA. Exceptions are the Galapagos Islands where you will need to overnight one night in Quito or Guayaquil, Ecuador, before flying to the Galapagos early the next morning, and Cusco, Peru, where you will usually not arrive Lima until the day after you depart home.
