Most people come back from Peru wishing they had spent more time in the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco, and I definitely agree with them. Before any trek, it’s very important to acclimatize to the altitude, but loads of travelers worry that they’ll be bored by having two relatively unscheduled days in Cusco. However, it’s probably one of the most lovely cities in South America, so don’t fret if you have a few days to chill before rushing up to Machu Picchu. For proof, check out some photos I’ve recently snapped while wandering the streets of Cusco.

Very nice photos Kate! I would like to stay more days at Cusco too, but I can’t regret that I visited everywhere I wanted to know and that I stayed at the best Hotel in the whole city, The “Libertador Palacio Del Inka Cusco”, which is located right in front of the “Temple of the Sun” a.k.a “Qoricancha”, the attention was warm and kind. Nevertheless I wish that the next time I get back to this city it would be possible to get to places like Maras and Moray, if you want to get more info about the hotel, they have a website, here it is: http://www.libertador.com.pe/en/2/1/2/cusco-hotel greetings!
