Ecuador Stability Returns, Airports Open

Following a day of protests and unrest in Ecuador, stability has returned today.  Schools are still closed, but most everything else is back to normal.  All airports are open and operating normally today, and businesses are open again.

A number of our Ecuadorian tour operators have reported in that all is calm today, and life is getting back to normal.

While the situation yesterday was tense, Ecuador should remain a safe place to travel.  Today, the Chief of Police has resigned because of the police revolt, and authority has been restored.  See more here from the Washington Post: Ecuador calm after revolt; Correa alleges coup
