To visit Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, a passport is required but most North American and European citizens do not need a visa in advance. Visit the Embassy of Ecuador for entry requirements if are not from the US or Canada. Additionally, if you are a US citizen and you would like more information on visas and other travel requirements, you can visit U.S. Department of State.

I am an Indian living in USA on a h1b Visa. I am planning to visit Quito during the new year (2019), and I know that for Ecuador Indians have on arrival visa for 90 days. However I also wanted to do a trip to Galapagos. So is there any restriction for me to travel to this island, or is if fine If i travel from Quito.
Hi Jai,
The Galapagos Islands are part of Ecuador, just another state in this country. So there is no restriction for you to travel to the Galapagos Islands while you are in Ecuador. You just need to pay the same $20.00 per person migration control fee, and the $100.00 per person National Park Entrance as all other travelers.
