WHY THIS TRIP
Sailing yachts are very rare in the Galápagos and the Beagle provides that aesthetic with spacious wooden decks and massive white sails. The itineraries aboard the Beagle are 8-days only which allow you to really see remote sites in the Islands and not feel rushed.
TRIP DESCRIPTION
The Beagle is a beautiful and spacious sailing yacht that is perfect for your Galápagos adventure. On the Beagle Galápagos Sailing Cruise, with your naturalist guide you will explore the Galápagos’ fascinating flora and fauna, both on land and under water.
Each day, you will go for naturalist walks with your guide who will explain wildlife, ecology, geology and history of the Island. Additionally, you will have several opportunities to snorkel throughout your cruise — hopefully, you will snorkel with sea lions, penguins, and even giant, green sea turtles. The wildlife you see will somewhat depend on the itinerary and the time of year in which you’re traveling. On the Northwest Itinerary, you’ll have chances to see flightless cormorants, all three types of boobies, marine iguanas, the Galápagos owl, lots of penguins, and perhaps whales (if the season is right). On the South-Central itinerary, you’re likely to see blue-footed boobies, lots of frigatebirds, sea lions, penguins, and the Waved Albatross (May through mid-December only).
The longer itineraries ensure that you will be with the same group and guide for the entire trip and you won’t have to return to the airport mid-way through your trip.
The 105-foot Beagle is a steel-hulled schooner with wooden teak decks, a charming interior, and is fully air-conditioned. She has 6 double cabins accommodating 13 passengers, each with a double lower bunk and a single upper, and with private bathrooms with hot water shower and a toilet. On the Beagle, you will find ample open and shaded deck space. You can count on a courteous and knowledgeable staff, including licensed multilingual naturalist guides. At mealtimes, delicious Ecuadorian and International cuisine is served in the homelike salon or out on the deck.
